Deep Tissue Laser therapy is a surgery-free, drug-free option for individuals suffering from both acute and chronic pain.
What is Laser Therapy Treatment? Laser Therapy is a medical treatment that uses focused light to stimulate a process within the cell called photobiomodulation (PBM). During PBM, the light interaction triggers a biological cascade of events that leads to an increase i cellular metabolism, which can decrease pain and inflammation and accelerate the healing process. This treatment is FDA cleared and enables patient to have an alternative to drug and surgery for pain relief.
What type of pain can this Laser therapy treatment help?
Laser therapy is clinically proven to reduce pain and inflammation associated with many common musculoskeletal conditions such as neck, back, and shoulder pain, sciatica, arthritis, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, and so many more!
What does it feel like?
Laser treatments must be administered directly to the skin to allow the delivery of light to tissues beneath the skin. Patients will feel a soothing warmth as the therapy is administered. Patients receiving treatments with higher-power lasers like what we offer frequently report a rapid decrease in pain and an increase in range of motion.
How long do the treatments last?
These treatments are quick, usually lasting 4-10 minutes each session. This of course depends on the size, depth, and chronicity of the condition being treated. High-power lasers are able to deliver a lot of energy in a small amount of time, allowing therapeutic dosages to be achieved quickly. The effects of these treatments are longer lasting after each treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Patients generally see results after 3-5 treatments. Chronic conditions typically require 9-12 treatments to get best results, and acute conditions usually 3-6 treatments. The clinician will develop specific plans of care based on the diagnosis and the tissues that are involved. There are some conditions that require more sessions, and with some conditions you may want to do the occasional maintenance session.
